A Dog’s Breakfast

A Dog's Breakfast poster

I found today a movie made by David Hewlett, who portrays Dr. Rodney McKay on Stargate: Atlantis, and starring his wife and a number of other actors and actresses from SGA.

It’s called A Dog’s Breakfast. It’s a comedy about a brother (Hewlett) and sister (Kate Hewlett) who live together and have a dog. The sister gets engaged to a sci-fi soap star (Paul McGillion, Dr. Carson Beckett on SGA) and the brother does tries to break them up through more civilized means. When that doesn’t work, he resorts to more…violent ways.

The big news about the movie is that MGM just picked it up, and NBC/Universal asking for a series pilot. Hewlett generated all the movie’s publicity through YouTube and an ultra-cheap Joomla hosting account.

I can’t wait to see this on the big screen.

Clearly, your Thursday is not dumpy enough

Dumpy Thursday is a weekly set of three single-frame comics drawn in MS Paint. The humor is incredibly outlandish and sometimes abstract or inside-joke-ish. Start at the beginning and check out all ~350 to date, and you will probably almost die in laughter at least 333 times. It’s even got a few flash movies and an periodic full-frame comic.

Some of my friends run it (Peck, Will, Mike), so it’s sure to be hilarious.
