Hitting the ground running
In the coming month or so, I’m going to slowly transition from Livejournal to Wordpress.
Wordpress will allow me to harness full control of the structure of my blog and not just the content and general look like Livejournal does. Don’t get me wrong—Livejournal has served me well. I’ve simply outgrown its constraints and want something more unique and flexible. Wordpress fulfills my requirements to the best of my knowledge, so I’ll use it.
Wordpress is a little flashier than my past blog engines. I’ve been blogging since June 2001 and regularly since September 2003. I started on Blogger back when it was still owned by Pyra Labs and I was still on dial-up, then started using Microblogger when I got a shell account through my college. I eventually moved to Livejournal for its friends features, as most of my friends used it. Now, though, most either rarely update or have deleted their accounts for professional reasons.
So, my move to Wordpress is simply the next step in my ever-evolving, ever-flowing stream of consciousness.
